About the Flicker Program
In this 3 hour mixed age class, we'll enjoy experiencing the great outdoors in local Vancouver parks based on the east side of Vancouver. We will take part in workshops offered to us by various local artists and non profits, and have the opportunity to take part in gardening from start to finish in Miss Belva's garden bed at Strathcona Gardens.
Children will be able to experience the freedom to run, learn at their own pace and deepen social connections with their peers. There will be opportunities to learn about the different kinds of plants, how to care for the land we're on and of course, get muddy!
Through all of this we will assist in teaching the children on being environmental stewards for our fair city and offer them reflective skills in observing their natural surroundings as well as themselves.

We acknowledge that our programs happen on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We raise our hands in thanks for the honour and privilege to conduct our classes on these lands.
